QID 90235, Installed Windows Applications, Now Reports Uninstall String

Himanshu Kathpal

Reporting for QID 90235, Installed Applications Enumerated From Windows Installer, is being updated to include the uninstall string for each application found.

This change will make it easier to uninstall applications identified by this QID that are no longer required or that pose a security risk. Customers who parse this report programmatically as part of an automated process may need to revisit their parsing logic.

Reports will add a new column titled “Uninstall_string” as shown below containing the string that uninstalls the application.

These changes will be deployed on all shared platforms on or around May 17, 2021.

  1. I don’t understand why Qualys doesn’t include this as a default report, or a default capability in the Cloud Agent or at least give us a sample search query. I’m here, looking for an answer, and at the end of the time spent reading, still don’t have an answer. I have agents deployed running as Local System with the capability of gathering ALL kinds of information, including whether or not a KB is installed, yet I am still not seeing how to quickly identify all sytems that have had a specific KB installed with a simple cloud agent query….. You’ve shown me the ‘WHAT’ now include the ‘HOW’ in the article….
