Overview
A crucial security certificate used for maintaining secure communication between Qualys Container Security sensors and the Qualys Cloud Platform is set to expire. To continue providing you with safe and uninterrupted service, we need to renew this certificate.
This blog post serves as a notification that the current Qualys Container Security sensor certificates will expire on 20th October 2024 at midnight UTC. To prevent any interruptions and maintain optimal security, it is essential for you to update the sensors to the latest sensor version which is 1.33.0 and above.
How does it Impact you?
If these certificates are not updated, the sensors will be unable to communicate with the Qualys Platform leading to potential disruptions in security scans and monitoring.

General, CICD, Registry, Serverless Fargate.

Certificate Expiration Date: 20th October 2024
We recommend that you complete the sensor upgrade process before 30th September 2024.
Steps to Upgrade
- Find out the sensors that need to be upgraded.
- Navigate to Qualys Platform > Container Security > Configurations > Sensors and use the following QQL to get the list of all the sensors that need an upgrade.

- Navigate to Qualys Platform > Container Security > Configurations > Sensors and use the following QQL to get the list of all the sensors that need an upgrade.
- Upgrade old sensors to the latest version.
- Use Qualys Container Security Sensor Deployment Guide Page 186 to upgrade the sensor to the latest version.
- Make sure all the sensors are upgraded to the latest version. Follow the above step to find out if sensors are still not upgraded.
- Verify if the sensors are working as expected.

During the upgrade of an individual sensor, that sensor will not be able to function. But other sensors will continue to function as intended.
