The power of automating your workflows to focus on a more productive workforce, that too in the ever-changing Cybersecurity threat landscape we need to always stay on our toes.

We have noticed that Qualys SSLLabs Customers are significantly using SSL Labs to protect your organizations in maintaining better visibility for your externally exposed certificates and to ensure these are always up to date.

As part of the future enhancement to the Qualys SSLLabs, we are introducing registration options for our API Users. With this, the API Users will be asked to input some basic details in the new version (v4 API). The existing API Users can continue to operate, as we will be supporting V3 and V4 APIs for a couple of months, to ensure the v3 users have ample time to shift to v4 API in the upcoming months.

What to expect:

Qualys SSLLabs users to continue with the existing v3 version of the API, until you have moved to the V4 API.

To register to the v4 API, you must use a one-time registration by providing details like – First Name, Last Name, Organizational Name, and Email Address. Post successful registration, you will be able to use the server test APIs with the help of a registered email address and all the remaining APIs will be available without any changes.

As you continue using Qualys SSLLabs, this will not cause any change in the Qualys SSLLabs scanning activity; we will not be storing any of your scanned results in our records.

For more technical details, please refer to our SSLLabs API v4 GitHub documentation.

Important Note: The API v3 API will be available until the end of 2023 (Dec 31st 2023), and starting from 1st January 2024, we will be deprecating the API v3 support for SSL Labs. Request all customers to move to API v4.

What to expect in the future:

  • Qualys SSLLabs will be supporting TLS 1.3 Grades in the upcoming quarters.
