Qualys Cloud Platform 2.4 (Connector) API Notification 1

A new release of Qualys Cloud Platform 2.4 (Connector) includes updated APIs, which are targeted for release in July 2024. The specific day will differ depending on the platform. See platform release dates on the Qualys Status page. This API notification provides an early preview into the upcoming APIs, allowing you to identify use cases that can leverage these updated APIs.

What’s New?

In this release, we’ve introduced enhanced validation to safeguard service account connectors from unintended deletion, ensuring the reliability of Snapshot-based scan configurations. Now, APIs for deleting AWS and Azure connectors prompt users to deregister the service account connector first, preventing accidental removal of critical assets.

Introduced Validation for Protecting Service Account Connectors

In this release, we have introduced a new validation feature designed to protect service account connectors from accidental deletion. This enhancement ensures the integrity of your Snapshot-based scan configurations by preventing the unintentional removal of essential service accounts. APIs implementing this feature are listed below.

Delete AWS Connector API

POST /qps/rest/3.0/delete/am/awsassetdataconnector
POST /qps/rest/3.0/delete/am/awsassetdataconnector/<id>

Delete Azure Connector API

POST /qps/rest/3.0/delete/am/azureassetdataconnector
POST /qps/rest/3.0/delete/am/azureassetdataconnector/<id>

For all these APIs, an attempt to delete such connectors will result in a new response message requesting you to deregister the service account connector first.
