Qualys Cloud Platform (VM, PC) 8.18.2 New Features

This new release of the Qualys Cloud Platform, version 8.18.2.0, includes the new look for the App Picker, new technology support for Unix UDCs, and error code/text for errors that occur during control evaluation.

The App Picker has a new look – The apps in a user’s subscription are now logically grouped, making it easier for users to find them.

Apps are grouped into the following categories:

• Infrastructure Security
• IT Operations
• Security Operations
• Compliance
• Application Security
• Sensor Management
• Utilities

Indicates that users currently have a trial version of the app.

Indicates that a trial version is available if users want to try the app.

Qualys Policy Compliance (PC/SCAP/SCA)

New Technology Support for Unix UDCs – The 8.18.2.0 release adds support for Ubuntu.

To create a UDC for Ubuntu 16, go to Policies > Controls > New > Control and select any of the Unix control types. Scroll down to the Control Technologies section to provide a rationale statement and the expected value for each technology.

Note: Ubuntu 16 is also listed in the Search technologies drop-down list when creating a new policy.

Error Code/Text for Actual Value in Policy Reports –An error code is displayed when an error occurs during control evaluation (by scanner or agent), and the corresponding error text is returned by the scan results. The error is displayed as the control’s Actual Value. In previous releases, a hash value used to be displayed for the Actual Value when there was an error and “No data was found” was shown under Actual Value list.
