Last updated on: June 1, 2020
This new release of the Qualys Cloud Platform (VM, PC), version 8.21, adds new technologies and platforms, and support for scanning ESXi hosts on vCenter for vulnerabilities.
Feature Highlights
Qualys Vulnerability Management (VM)
- Support for Scanning ESXi Hosts on vCenter for Vulnerabilities – Qualys now supports vulnerability scans on your ESXi hosts through vCenter. This is in addition to the existing support for compliance scans on ESXi hosts through vCenter.
To learn how to setup vCenter authentication records and run vulnerability scans, refer to the Policy Compliance Scan ESXi hosts on vCenter User Guide.
Qualys Policy Compliance (PC/SCA)
- MySQL 8.x Support – Qualys has extended its support for MySQL authentication to include My SQL 8.x in addition to the existing support for MySQL 5.x. Users need a MySQL authentication record to authenticate to a MySQL database instance running on a Unix or Windows host, and scan it for compliance.
Navigate to Scans > Authentication and check if Unix or Windows record is already defined for the host running the database.
To create a MySQL record for the same host, click New > MySQL Record.
- New Technologies Supported for Ubuntu UDCs – Qualys PC now supports UDCs for Ubuntu 18.x.
Navigate to Policies > Controls > New > Control and select any of the Unix control types. Scroll down to the Control Technologies section to provide a rationale statement and expected value for each technology.
Ubuntu 18.x will be displayed in the technologies list while creating a policy.
