This release of the Qualys Cloud Platform version 2.34.1 includes updates and new features for Cloud Agent & AWS EC2 Connector, AssetView, CloudView, and Security Assessment Questionnaire, highlights as follows.

Cloud Agent & AWS EC2 Connector

  • Automatic Merge of Cloud Agents running in Amazon Web Services (AWS) with EC2 Connector assets – Individual asset records from Cloud Agent running in AWS and instances from EC2 Connector and pre-authorized scanners are automatically merged into a single agent-tracked asset record.  This asset record merges instance identity metadata plus instance state information (RUNNING, STOPPED, TERMINATED) coming from the EC2 Connector.  One can now write AssetView queries on Cloud Agents in AWS with instance state information, e.g. “list all Cloud Agents in AWS that are on terminated instances”.  Requires Cloud Agent Linux 1.7 or later and Cloud Agent Windows 2.1 or later.

AssetView

  • Added “Cloud provider” group by field – AssetView searches can now be grouped by “Cloud provider” field; supported values are AWS, Azure, and GCP.  This allows you to group asset results by in which cloud provider the assets are deployed.

CloudView

  • Added read-only access for non-Manager roles – Extends role-based access control by adding a read-only access permission to non-Manager roles.  This allows organizations to provide read-only access to different IT groups for visibility without needing to assign Manager roles.

Security Assessment Questionnaire

  • Separate Section from Subsection in Export – CSV exports now have Sections in the first column and Subsections in the second column.
