Qualys Adds Cloud Agent Linux Support for AWS ARM-Based EC2 Instances
Last updated on: June 1, 2020
Releasing this week (May 26, 2020), Qualys adds Cloud Agent Linux support for Amazon Web Services EC2 instances powered by ARM processors including the new Graviton2 processor. AWS Graviton2 processors power Amazon EC2 M6g, C6g, and R6g instances that provide up to 40% better price performance over comparable current generation x86-based instances (*).
Organizations using Cloud Agent Linux x64 for always-on and elastic workloads in AWS can now add Cloud Agent Linux ARM support following the same gold image and CI/CD pipeline deployment methodologies. The agent is a separate installer and binary release while managed using the same Cloud Agent user interface and APIs on the Qualys platform.
Supported Qualys Cloud Apps running on Cloud Agent Linux ARM release are identical to the x64 agent version, including Asset Inventory, Vulnerability Management, Policy Compliance, Security Configuration Assessment (CIS Benchmarks), and File Integrity Monitoring. Additionally, Qualys Vulnerability Signatures team has created specific detections for x64 and ARM architectures in case there are vulnerabilities specific to only one of the architectures.
