On July 1, 2025, Qualys published a notification in advance, announcing the next set of Qualys Cloud Agent versions scheduled to reach End-of-Support (EOS) on January 31, 2026. As this date approaches, we are sharing this reminder to help customers take action early and avoid unexpected findings—particularly the appearance of an EOS-related QID on affected assets.
For full details, please review the original notification published in July 2025:
End-of-Support Qualys Cloud Agent Versions for 2026
What Happens on January 31, 2026
Effective January 31, 2026, the Cloud Agent versions listed in the original notification will officially enter the End-of-Support status. Agents in EOS will continue to operate, but with limited support:
- General Support Only: Access to documentation, KB articles, and upgrade guidance.
- No Standard Support: Engineering and bug fix support are no longer provided.
Important Note on QID Impact and Timing
Assets running EOS Cloud Agent versions will be flagged by:
QID 105961 – EOL/Obsolete Software: Qualys Cloud Agent Detected
Key points to note:
- This is not a vulnerability QID.
- It is categorized as Severity 5, consistent with all EOL/EOS software QIDs.
- The presence of this QID is often unexpected if upgrades have not been completed in advance.
Please note the following timing details:
Because January 31, 2026, falls on a Saturday, the QID logic will be updated on the next business day. As a result, QID 105961 will begin reflecting the newly released EOS agent versions on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Customers should plan upgrades accordingly to avoid seeing new EOS-related QID findings when this update takes effect.
Recommended Actions
- Review Cloud Agent versions deployed across your environment.
- Identify assets running versions below the EOS thresholds outlined in the notification published on July 1, 2025.
- Upgrade agents before the end of January 2026 to maintain full support.
- Enable Cloud Agent Auto-Upgrade, where possible, to ensure the agent versions remain up to date automatically.
- Update gold images regularly to prevent the need for redeploying outdated agent versions.
